Under the guidance of W. Kemp, R. Levin, and J. Radonski, and as an assistant to H. Karp, I made my American debut at the age of 8. I inherited the Viennese performance technique and, recognized by the legendary pianist and musicologist P.B. Skoda, received cadenzas from him. I made my concerto debut in Europe (Bulgaria). I was invited to debut at the Vienna Airbahnhof Hall and New York’s Carnegie Hall, where I received widespread acclaim for my performances of Ravel's "Gaspard de la nuit," becoming the first Japanese woman to achieve such a feat. Having performed in various locations from an early age and accumulated numerous awards, I received the IMA Music Prize while attending Toho High School and the Heiwado Foundation Arts Award during my university years. I was selected as a scholarship student and participant in public lessons at major music festivals such as Suntory Hall (Tokyo), Aspen (USA), Vienna, and Salzburg (Austria), where I earned the highest diploma. I also obtained the Austrian National Performer’s Qualification (with honors) in Vienna. I have performed at the Golden Key Music Festival (New York), the Narnia Music Festival (Italy), and as a soloist at the Franz Liszt Music Festival (Austria). I have appeared on Austrian National Broadcasting (ORF), Italian National Television, and Austrian commercial TV. In chamber music, I have collaborated with Stefan Meller, Wolfgang David, and others, toured Japan, and studied with Gernot Vinißhoffer, Francisco Araiza, and others. Invited to perform with the European Ballet St. Pölten, I also took part in performances by renowned artists at the Tarlheim Classic and St. Pölten's events, as well as the PCC (Peyrlach Concert Series). In 2020, I released my debut album, "Mozart Recital Live," and in 2022, I released "Tomoko Nakai Recital Live." Pianist and musicologist P.B. Skoda described me as "a wonderfully refined and flawless talent," while the Austrian newspaper NÖN praised my performance as "extremely masterful yet soulful." Furthermore, the Austrian local newspaper of the Triessen district reported on me as a symbolic figure of female strength, in line with the local aesthetic, referring to me as a representative of Japanese women.Currently, I am actively performing solo and duo concerts across Japan and Europe, while also serving as an assistant professor at historic music seminars and music universities and conservatories in Vienna. I am also the representative of Office Eisvogel.
Since the age of 8, she has been performing concerts both domestically and internationally, receiving numerous awards. After studying at Toho Gakuen College and University, she obtained the Austrian State Concert Diploma with honors from the private conservatory in Vienna in 2017. Thanks to her long stays in Europe and the USA, she possesses excellent English skills and good German skills. She offers lessons for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
During her stays in Japan, she prefers to offer private lessons (with a maximum of two students per day) to provide individualized and intensive attention to each person. Therefore, she recommends the 90- to 120-minute course (base price: 100 euros), which is very popular.
For students who book and pay for three or five lessons in advance, there is the option to use a free chat service, through which they can send questions at any time (however, responses are not guaranteed within 24 hours).
The same applies to online lessons: booking is done in advance, and the lessons can be scheduled flexibly according to the student's preference. When purchasing a 10-lesson package, one lesson is free.
Even outside of the aforementioned conditions, she strives to accommodate individual requests as flexibly as possible. If you have any questions or uncertainties, please feel free to contact me.
In addition to solo and accompanying performances, as well as teaching, she also offers the following services:

MOZART RECITAL LIVE
~ Bösendorfer Imperial 290 ~
In 1786, at the age of 32, the brilliant Mozart composed the work 497 for piano four hands in Vienna, considered one of his longest and most dramatic sonatas. It is unparalleled in its scale, depth of content, rich and varied expression, as well as its elegance and beauty. In this sonata, the key characteristics of the classical style of the time are blended in an exceptionally dense and perfect way. The technical demands on the performance, as well as the skills required for ensemble playing, are as remarkable as in his famous piano concertos. The physicist Albert Einstein called this work “the crown of sonatas.”
In many of his works, such as The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Così fan tutte, Mozart criticized the nobility and secretly supported the ideas of the French Revolution. For these and other reasons, he was misunderstood and mistreated by the Archbishop of Salzburg. This was because he was a pioneer. This work is not rooted in the tradition of Early Music but is an avant-garde composition that anticipates a modern future, while still retaining Mozart’s distinctive features and breaking away from past forms. The precise execution of the four-hand playing, transcending the boundaries of chamber music, includes moments that sound like a symphony or orchestral piece. The first movement may feel somewhat slow, and the second movement might even seem too fast. This is due to many earlier duos playing the Andante slower and ignoring the alla breve. Therefore, if it doesn’t sound quite like the “typical Mozart,” it is a true pleasure for the performers.

TOMOKO NAKAI RECITAL LIVE
~ Liszt, Schubert, Debussy ~
The Austrian newspaper NÖN, the Liszt Festival, and professors from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna described Tomoko Nakai’s debut at the Liszt Festival as “a performance of exceptional skill, played with a profound soul.”
Excerpt from the same article:
“Only selected pianists are invited each year to the Liszt Festival, held at Liszt’s sacred venue. Great artists like Rudolf Buchbinder, Elisabeth Leonskaya, Arkadi Volodos, Ingolf Wunder, Oleg Maisenberg, Roland Batik, and Lilya Zilberstein are featured in this year’s festival program, and this year, Tomoko Nakai joined as well. Tomoko Nakai impressed the Liszt Festival audience with a performance of extraordinary virtuosity and an equally captivating soul.”
In this album, due to time constraints, about two-thirds of the Liszt Festival debut concert are included, featuring Liszt’s The Whispering of the Forest, Consolation No. 3, Légèreté, Schubert’s elegant Piano Sonata No. 13, Op. 664, and Debussy’s Clair de Lune.
